Data to the Rescue

March 28, 2024

Watch this recorded workshop from March 2024 to learn more about Data to the Rescue: Penguins Need Our Help! – a curriculum designed for out-of-school time programs. Data to the Rescue teaches middle schoolers about polar research, climate change and data literacy. Learners develop their STEM skills and knowledge as they learn about penguin populations on the Western Antarctic Peninsula.

Hands-on experiences, online resources and videos help youth make sense of the real-world data about changes to the penguin populations in Antarctica and supports thinking like a scientist to help others learn and understand what is happening to these animals and their environment as temperatures change.

Youth today will need data literacy skills to navigate their world. Watch this recording to experience some of the activities from Data to the Rescue and prepare yourself to help learners be innovative and creative in this data-driven world.
