Staff Development Guide
Training situation: Coaching (one-on-one)
Length: 15 minutes
Objectives: Participants will apply strategies for making STEM meaningful to their upcoming activity plans to learn to get youth actively engaged in STEM learning.
Agenda
Engage with the components of projects-based learning to learn ways to support giving youth control.
Management is about supporting learning; control is about making sure youth are doing what you want. Learn how to manage, not control, the experience.
Frontline staff and volunteers will seek out community partners and utilize their strengths in STEM to enhance programs. Connect youth to the community through service learning projects of local interest that promote STEM inquiry.
