Building Insights Through Observations

This project will research the ways in which arts-based instructional methods and geospatial data visualization can be successfully applied by science teachers to help students develop critical thinking skills and practices. Students will use NOAA’s Science On a Sphere to create visualizations.

This is an AISL funded project by The Nurture Nature Center that brings together data literacy, arts-based instruction and NOAA data about the earth. It will examine how teachers learn to incorporate arts-based teaching methods and visualizations of authentic science data into middle school classrooms.
